You’re in love with an abuser. You should seek therapy. And maybe leave this guy alone. So he can find someone that’s not in love with someone else
He’s 18 years old. He might just be inexperienced and/or intimidated by you.
Ask him out. Pick a movie you want to see. Ask him what night he’s free. Make definite plans. If he gives vague reasons why he can’t give you a specific date and time then maybe he’s not that into you. Tell him, “Too bad. It would have been fun. Let me know if you change your mind.”
If he’s not into you, asking him out won’t change that. If he’s just shy or inexperienced, you made it easier for him. If he’s intimidated, you might scare him a little bit. But he will probably be thrilled to not have to do the hot work.
You don’t have to wait for him to make the first move.
