If my bf had fucked his best friend I’d want to know early on. It’s not the same as an ex from 3 years ago. Exes don’t usually become platonic best friends. It’s a really weird dynamic.

It sounds like he has given up, and you asking them to leave would mean them having nowhere to go and with no one acting as support. I can't imagine how you feel, the mix of guilt maybe but at the same time it's not your responsibility?
I don't know what the answer is tbh. If his prognosis is not too good, and you want to give yourself a time-line of how much longer you're willing to wait him out, that could help with your sanity.
I've read there are unconventional treatments that involve psilocybin for example, which have better rates of success. But at the same time, is this person close enough with you that you want to get into that road with him?
I would try to reach out to a support group for family members of AA patients. He might not be related to you, but they might have resources to help you navigate all the decisions ahead.
An example of a day that I have that makes me upset is the following.
Yesterday. We both woke up at 5am. I worked for 5 hours at one thing that I do, came home, spent quite literally a few hours organizing the spare room (which really needed done since we moved in) as well as washing and drying any dishes, making myself some lunch and cleaning my mess, vacuuming the entire house, and doing + folding 2 loads of laundry. After that, I worked for around 5 more hours at my other job.
She came home yesterday after working a 12 hour shift (she works 3 days 12 hours shifts but gets 4 days off a week). She cooked dinner. Ate. And then fell asleep on the couch and didn’t clean a single thing except folding her clothes from the laundry I washed. She woke up, scrapes the food off into one container, and she leaves every single dish in the sink. I find them when I come home from finishing working. She wakes up today, and goes to work. The dishes will stay there all day unless I clean them.
It’s this type of day that makes me not happy.
I agree. She has champagne taste on a beer budget.
She needs to know she has to pay for her personal expenses. And rent will be what your both comfortable with. She doesn't get to spend your money for her taste.
Definitely talk through all the expenses to make sure she is prepared for living on a budget.
Worse case scenario I become a single mom and my son’s future is secured. My husband has proven that he can easily find a new one or two within weeks so he will be fine too
The “not well” has already happened
12 hour shifts, fuck me…hope you give him daily backrubs, the dude has literally no free time (work, sleep, eat, clean, go to work, repeat). The audacity to deny him some time when it becomes too much… Guy is working himself to death for you at 24 and guaranteed you are going yo betray him. Sickening…

You're absolutely right, and I'll always be on the same page with regard to my alcoholism. I know that it's a failure on my part, and I would like very much to do better.
Addiction is more than I know how to navigate right now. I hope that that changes.
