At minimum it sounds like you haave a good support system with your GF.
Also make sure you go through the family court and get legal rights to your child. The birth mother doesn't have to be involved but she should pay her share in support to support this child.
Join parenting sites/groups. Find some local parent groups and build a support system from that as well.
Parenting books provide a decent outline too and don't forget to talk with your child's doctor about any concerns.
