Well I work for a general contractor and electricians are sub out through us so I deal with sparkies all the time I would say it kind of depends on where they are with work sometimes especially this time of year things slow down but they might even be ahead on the job so he could take that time off with no repercussions. But we always work on a time line which means if any subs are behind they have to catch up. By bringing more guys on the job just bc working for a GC they have to finish the job on or before the deadline on the contract if not they can get fined $10,000 a day and everyday past so they might be in-between jobs I don't know where you on-line . But I live! in the west in the rocky mountains region it's winter we usually won't start a new job till spring so it's very hot to say why he is taking time off but I'm sure he will be fine other than not hanging the income for his time off.
