I’ll toss out my perspective with a similar situation. I did invite him out of politeness and feeling like maybe people would ask if he wasn’t there and he didn’t end up coming. We haven’t talked in over 10 years now and I still just wish I’d had that moment with him as an official end but idk. I wouldn’t want a relationship with him but it would have been nice to have that.
Thank you, I already had that discussion with him yesterday. I told him that the flirtation needs to stop if he’s not willing to romantically connect with me and he said that he’s not able to connect with anyone. Then we had a talk about him being a loner. I thought it’d be a good time to ask him how he felt about me because we were on friend terms but you’re right, I should probably just be patient but move on with my life so I don’t feel insane waiting for him to open up.
