Say he takes home $500k a year after expenses because he's soooo wealthy. That those levels and at 32 if we say he did that the last 6 years then that's $3 million even if he didn't invest. So that's all his, not to be split.
The next year, $250k to him and $250k to her. 3.25/0.25. He would still have 92.9% of the wealth. It would never reach 50/50 even. And his investments would go exponentially to hers.
The same works for any other value. Say he pocketed $50k a year. 6 years that makes $300k. 325k/25k still puts him at 92.9% of the total.
OP says he's at least had this wealth for 2 years. So if we assume $50k for 2 years then marriage it's $100k+25k = $125k. A split of 125/25 still puts him at 83% of the assets ending year one.
So no, we aren't saying to split everything 50/50. We're saying that in a partnership where you're legally tying yourself to someone else, you tied them to your earnings as well. You split it. Whatever was previous is yours.
