All I’m saying is that rather she rents from him or rents from someone, the result is the same. She’s paying money that someone else is gaining equity from because she’s not in a spot to purchase a home.
Look, I’m not even saying it’s a good idea or that she should do that or that she shouldn’t. I’m just saying, if she’s renting, be it from him or anyone else, the exact same thing is happening with her money. We live in a broken system where people with less wealth get screwed financially specifically because they have less wealth. But as a renter, until she’s in a position of home ownership, she’s going to be paying someone to live! in a home that they own and that they will build equity via her rent payment. That’s all I’m saying. And I don’t even think that there’s a reason to debate that. It’s factual. Renters pay money to live! in a place that someone else owns, thus the owner gains equity not the renter. That’s literally what renting is.
Wow, when you leave try not to trip over the umbilical cord on the way out.

How far were you into the relationship before she made moving in an ultimatum?
Sometimes the compassionate thing to do is to have a very clean break.
