I think it's time to save up for lessons to drive. Car, and insurance to be a bit more independent in that sense. I can't imagine being 24 now with the cost of living being completely insane for no reason, but corporate greed. However, I do thunk you need to take steps to get there. I understand the delay to get a license as it's a theme.

I do think maybe you should start chipping in on gas and maybe a small cheap gesture evertime they take you to work. It shouldnt matter that your 24 but I did this at 16 with friends since their parents bought them cars, but their parents didn't buy me car. I showed appreciation when I was able to do so.
I hope you work it out but expressing and showing ways to show appreciation and contributing to house hold would help. Also, show the ways you are trying to get a license, car, and insurance. Just take small steps to show them I'm going to do better.
You are not a burden. Everyone needs help from time to time at any age. It will be okay. But, try to say sorry for things you are sorry for and be the bigger person along showing progress to be more independent. I'm not saying because you need help your not independent but you do need more assistance these days.
I mean…i was married at 20 to a guy six months older than me. I had my oldest at 21 yrs old. The father was an abusive asshole in MANY various ways but even he never said anything that dumb after i just birthed his damn heir.
