OP, this (#4) is absolutely the choice you should do. That’s a really great compromise and has a best-case scenario of you starting out your child’s life with two communicative parents who have a healthy relationship outside of their role as parents, which benefits everyone involved. Trust me, couples therapy is so incredibly worth the time and money.
My thoughts are that it's impossible to know what has happened, but there is a conversation you definietely need to have and this is good opportunity. I feel like she needs to hear from you that what changed you from well functioning to walking disaster was caving to pressure that she has put on you. I doubt it was ever properly adressed and whether she even feels like she has anything to do with your problems. You can use these circumstances to make her listen to your past resentments.
He needs to be responsible for his own recovery. Deep down he knows this, he just doesn’t want to take accountability. I would tell him this and kindly suggest that he looks into receiving mental health treatment for his addiction.
…I really don't get it? How is her doing same/similar things to you taking your experience away? Have you considered that she's doing this to bond with you? Why do you think she's trying to one up you, and if so, why would you want a partner like that?
