Oh man, I can relate to this so hard.
During my early 20’s, I was dating an older guy (not too much older than I, but well past his clubbing years) and because of the level of his involvement with church activities/children, it was widely frowned upon that he was getting up early to attend Sunday service while I was just getting in from a night of dancing and drinking. I went dancing maybe every other week, and only with my close friends. We never went clubbing other than for the sole purpose of just getting together and dancing our hearts out. It came to a head when my ex told me to stop clubbing or we would have to end it. For the sake of our relationship, I stopped clubbing altogether. We broke up 5 years later.
I don’t want this to come off as cliche, but think about it this way: today is the oldest you’ve ever been,… And the youngest you’ll ever be again. You may never change your BF’s mind and get him to see your point of view, but if you never got to go out dancing/clubbing again, would you be okay with that?
Unless you're looking to get embroiled in someone else's either deep fantasy life or perhaps mental illness this may not be the right person for you. Some people say wild things just to shock others.
