That's definitely a personal preference. Honestly, if I'm watching a video, I pay better attention if I'm playing a game on my phone. If I'm scrolling on social media, I'll miss a lot, though. Growing up, I was taught that tv rots your brain, so I don't feel too guilty for not always paying attention.
Video games are a pretty fundamental point of (in)compatibility in a relationship. Find a girl who is also a gamer or who truly doesn’t care about you liking them. There’s nothing wrong with her disliking them, but actively disparaging you just means it’s the wrong fit. End it now before you both end up deeply resentful of each other. There’s zero chance that a healthy family life can evolve out of this.
