Nah it's not weird, y'all are just insecure.
Yeah, this is like wanting a woman to be in a trench warfare movie or something. Like, I am 100% for inclusion and diverse casting, but they should be written that way, or written in a way where their gender/race/whatever doesn't matter and can be filled by the best actor. We should absolutely not be rewriting historical movies/period pieces to be more diverse when it wasn't true, unless it's historical fiction ofc.
As a side note: this is why I was pissed that they cast Idris Elba as Roland in The Dark Tower film. Normally I wouldn't care, and I love Elba, but race plays a big part in the story! Making Roland black would completely change his relationship with another main character that shows up in book 2 (not that they got to that stuff in the single crappy movie they made). Stupid as hell. Yes, there should be more POC in film and TV. But when it's appropriate (which is probably like 90+% of the time). If they remade Hotel Rwanda and everyone was white, people would rightfully be angry, so why is it cool when it's the reverse?
I bake way more than we (a family of five) can eat. I might make five dozen cookies one day, and three pies the next, and two cakes the following day.
It’s not for social media; I rarely take pictures or post anything. I honestly just find the process soothing and like to try to perfect my craft.
That said, I’d never waste food like that. It just wouldn’t feel right cooking it without someone to eat it, so I understand the discomfort you’re feeling. I take mine into work and let my coworkers eat it, and I give it to neighbors, my kids’ teachers, etc.
There are tons of ways to do what he’s doing without wasting food. Maybe bring up your discomfort and discuss it with him; he might not even know that it makes you uncomfortable.
