Someone once told me years ago to go see a counselor, and because of who it was I didn't do it. Looking back now, they were absolutely right – it helps A LOT to have a trained someone that can help you sort out jumbled trauma. It doesn't mean you're broken, you just had that room in your head get trashed and now it's time to pick it back up. Your significant other can't do this for you, I don't care how mature they are, it doesn't work out well. There's some dark shit hidden in the corners of our minds, and I don't think she had a clue what she was really asking.

When she cheated the marriage ended. It can never go back to the way it was. If you take her back you’re just agreeing with her reasons and agreeing to never bring it up.
Unfortunately something triggered her and she needs professional help. Are you able to be 100% only her friend ? She has opened up to you a little, and it might be good if she can continue to talk. However she has to know that you won’t touch her, kiss her, in any way have physical touch. Is that even realistic ? Only you can decide.
