Thank you for being the only one to give me genuine and solid advice. I am trying to get to a point where I am financially independent and on my own, it's just taking longer than I had wanted. So I was hoping to hear what someone thinks I should do in the meantime in the current situation.
I have a lot of anxiety and felt the need to mention something because it's always in my mind lately to the point its messing with my health (which is something I have wanted to see a therapist over but have not had the finances to due to other life circumstances) we always had a close bond, and the culture I grew up with my whole life values family a lot. So I just been feeling guilty. I just never have experienced something like this, so was curious if anyone had advice for the current situation. But if becoming financially independent is the only answer then I guess I just have to deal with this until then.
He's talking to you because he gets sex, cuddles, and back scratches from you without any commitment. You claim to have boundaries but those are actually rules and he's ignoring them. A boundary is behavior you can control: are you going to keep giving him your time, energy and attention or are you going to stop? If you have a problem with his sleeping around and not wanting a committed relationship with you, why are you continuing to keep him in your life? He's feeding you scraps and you're settling for it.
I know it can feel good during certain moments when he's being sweet to you, but the overall pattern here is one of manipulation and selfishness from him. It is TRULY TRULY better to be romantically “alone” than to be chasing intimacy in little bits and pieces that are sprinkled throughout a big, stinky shit sandwich.
