I don't know what's been ordered by the court or what hasn't. All Friend said was that when his mom died, she asked Caregiver to take care of him. I think Caregiver did take over the accounts upon Friends mom's passing. It is legal for a person to have a “payee” for their ssi.
I'm wondering, even, if their rent for their apartment really is as high as Caregiver claims. He said the rent is $850 and friend gets $800 in SSI so not only does friend not see a dime of that, he also doesn't receive any allowance from Caregiver nor does friend get to use his food stamps card.
