Just cause you are independent in the sense of doing chores and taking care of your physical needs, doesn't mean you can't be dependent in aspects like emotionally or mentally. Also add to that – ask him WHY he has THAT condition for having kids. Why does he need to have you stay home and not work to agree to have children? What’s his problem with working mothers?
He may have an answer that… sounds reasonable enough.
But you then still need to think about whether YOU agree to that reason. He is asking YOU to alter your life significantly because he can’t imagine that you could BOTH adjust your life a bit and also successfully raise children together.
Which many, many couples do very well by working together as a proper team, and both spending plenty of time on boring adult stuff (like house chores) AND spending time for fun with your spouse and/or your children. ?
This is great! Thank you so much! I was really just sad that I was left alone by the end of the night. I really don’t mind his drinking, since he’s an adult, and it usually isn’t too bad. I just feel like he doesn’t know his own limits and goes way too far too fast without realizing it. I’ve had a conversation regarding the pacing of his drinking before but it doesn’t seem to have made much difference. I will bring it up again and check in on him. As far as any recent events that could have sparked up a rise in his drinking, there haven’t been any that I’m aware of. We are usually pretty transparent when it comes to events in our daily lives and I’m close with his family. The only thing that I can think is the amount of holidays there have been lately. He usually uses them as an excuse to get drunk.
That he has never lived with a romantic partner at his age is a bit of a red flag.

If he's only been in the US for a month and he's already become a narcissistic “trauma dumper” then he's a fast learner, LOL. It's what we're best at right now. But as with any relationship, if it's become more of a burden than a joy it's definitely worth some consideration as to whether or not you want to stay in it. Some of this depends on how long he'll be away. If it's just a year maybe you can get through this as a couple. But you shouldn't plan to spend multiple years hanging on to someone who's showing you so little regard.
This isn't normal or respectful behavior. You aren't required to do something sexual after a date. I would break up with him. He can give himself 10 mins lol. A date is supposed to be a bonding time, not a transaction
