Not a certainty, but I agree, M35 probably wants to be Senior Partner, with powers, privileges and perks. This may actually suit OP for awhile, to have someone take burdensome responsibilities and difficult decisions off her shoulders, but as she matures she will grow tired of the Junior role, and expect to be treated as an adult and an equal partner. M35 may not adapt to this, and in worst case may aggressively try to tear OP's self-confidence down.
