When I said that no reasonable person could respond to your question with the information given, that wasn't true. It is what I thought at the time, but I was confused and emotional. The reality is that not every reasonable person would approach that situation from my same exact perspective, so some could reach a different conclusion. Like if someone was already planning to have a kid in the next few years, or was already planning to adopt a teenager at some point, or something like that. These people do exist.
It isn't my business but I don't want something I said when I was emotional and not thinking clearly to somehow stand in your way in the future. Just because I'm not ready for the [her nephew's name] situation doesn't mean that NOBODY can be ready for the [her nephew's name] situation.
