Gonna go off the comment before you, your wife said she wanted to split cost of living 50/50, but you have a wonderful offer from your parents. However, your partner has never had the experience of living in HER own home. The opportunity your parents are giving is wonderful, but from her perspective, it may seem that the home would be your and your parents. Imho, there may be some major underlying reasons why she may be going after half ownership of the house you'll need to talk through to find a solution
You can be a stay at home spouse even if you don’t have kids. But this person just seems like an asshole (the girlfriend).
Expectations can be related to boundaries… I expect my partner not to cheat on me … not maintaining a relationship with a cheating partner would be a boundary
You also can argue that no cheating is an ultimatum and controlling… along with insensitive to the needs of that partner … and it would be just as foolish as your accusations toward ops partner
The fact is he has every right to set the boundary/Expectation of only wanting to marry someone willing to take his last name… and she has every right to say she won't marry a person who won't hyphenate
He stated his boundary its now up to her to decide how she wants to move forward
