I cannot believe you late wife would want you to give her jewelry to your new wife over her daughter. Plus the fact that you lied about having it!! You only revealed that you had it in order to manipulate your daughter into behaving how you and M want her to behave regardless about her feelings. That’s shady I do not believe your late wife would approve. You are selfish and cruel.
If my father ever did anything like this I would never forgive them. You need to explain to M that you should’ve never given her that jewelry. You need to honor your late and be a decent father (and human) by giving the jewelry to B.
If you continue to act in this manner you will lose one daughter, betray your late wife’s memory, and probably destroy your reputation. The optics are bad and you sound like a narcissist.
Not so fun fact: involuntary sterilization still occurs in the United States. California was performing hysterectomies and oophorectomies (removal of the ovaries) on unsuspecting people incarcerated in state women’s prisons as recently as 2014—as a side note, I’m not convinced this has actually stopped because it was already illegal when it was being performed and instead of prosecution or the loss of medical licenses the state just passed another law to make it more illegal? I’m not sure how that’s supposed to do anything. Regardless, many states still use reproductive coercion, often including vasectomy requirements in plea deals. The justification for this is often that it’s “cheaper than welfare.” Pretty fucking gross if you ask me. If anyone’s interested in more information, the 2020 documentary Belly of the Beast is available to stream for free and covers the fight to end involuntary sterilization in California.
Sounds like your FIL is ego hurt that you’re more successful than him and you don’t “deserve it” because it originated from your father. Technically, you have to be good in business to continue to have a successful one so he is being very petty.
This is odd to me though. I’m a daughter and don’t all dads want to make sure the husbands of their daughters can take care of them well?
The sheer irony of him calling his old boss/colleagues “idiots” … someone needs to look in the mirror and stop thinking so highly of himself because that is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard of a “professional” doing.
This comment didn't try to make me or her the bad guy. This is solid advice, and it's something I'm taking to heart. I will try my best to use this when the time comes. It's naked to go away and talk when we cooled down, but I will try to do so. Thank you for the advice
Yes!!! This!!!
Honestly, you are a shitty self involved Dad.

Hes gay. Hes using problems with you as an excuse. Pay attention to his male “friendships” and you will see yourself
Oh. Oh no. It's sad that you even have to ask this. Please leave
