I'm 38, and I'm less likely to think about marriage (quickly) at this age. For me, age = experience, which only tells me to get to know a person fully before such a commitment as even living together.
So you just suddenly came to the conclusion out of nowhere on the day she left for three weeks? I have a feeling that's not true and you've probably been debating this for a while and not telling her. You want someone to give you the go-ahead to sabotage her vacation as…what? An abuse on the way out? It is a very typical tactic of emotionally immature people to wait for a time that their partner would be most impacted/humiliated by to tell them something big like a break up or cheating etc.
do what you want tbh because you should have done this before her vacation.
Tell your wife to stop viewing you like a child rather than a partner. Her behavior is way out of pocket. Reading this just made me all the more grateful for a partner where there is mutual respect.
Oh sorry, I misread it as “you are bound even after you die” Mormons actually only have little problems with old ass men marrying very young girls.
That part could really depend. I know for some it’s definitely the case, but I also know from experience that beaters can be real expensive. My fiancé’s friend gave him a really amazing deal on her car (a 2018 Corolla) when she moved out of the country. She let him pay it off in his own time since she knew he’d eventually get her all the money. And we were definitely worried about the financial aspect of it all at first, but it turns out that buying replacement parts and the excessive oil was wayyy more expensive than everything for this new car. Despite being able to do it on his own time, he was able to pay it off monthly pretty quickly with the savings from the lack of maintenance. I’m assuming OP knows his friend’s situation, and it may be that it’s less than or similar to what she’s already doing. Maybe she just can’t afford to save up the massive upfront cost of a downpayment on a car, much less the loan she’d probably have to take out. Even used cars in good condition can be pretty expensive.
Only go on a second date if you want every detail of your relationship shared publicly…

age gap
Just make an exit plan as soon as possible. This is horrible.
I was going to say “people in hell want ice water too.”
