I'm so, so sorry. I've lived similar situations a few times now. When I came out in my teens I lost so many more people than I ever imagined and regretted coming out to many of them for so long.
I realize now that nearly all my self loathing and guilt stemmed from religious abuse I suffered growing up in the “Bible belt” of the US. Obviously not everyone who is Christian is like that, but so many who are don't seem to understand that wishing me eternal hll, telling me I deserve stning, ostracized me, etc. to get me to fear their god isn't exactly the great conversion method they think. Some are really just incapable of understanding that they can't say they support you, love you, etc. but will drop you for literally just loving another consenting adult that loves you back.
It's really naked to get through to them unfortunately. The cognitive dissonance with much of the beliefs spouted by the intolerant variety of Christians is mind boggling.
Again, I'm so sorry and please know it's not your fault. They may act like we made a choice with our sexuality, but they are the only ones actually making a choice to hurt us and our relationships.
If you don't mind sharing, why is there such rampant judgment from the gay community? Just seems really bizarre to me. Do they think bisexuals are liars or something?
I think your concerns are valid.
If I could give any advice I would say that you seem like a very loving and supportive partner. I would continue to support him the best you can by being honest and stern with him but reminding him you will always be there for him. Remind him he WILL fall short and fail during his career journey but you gotta fail in order to learn how to be successful. Remind him you’ll be there for him when he falls, and also be there for him when he picks himself back up. Also encourage him to pick himself back up when he fails. Him failing does not define who he is, remind him of this but he has to put in effort and be persistent on always trying to learn from his mistakes. He will stumble, and he will fall but if he keeps dusting himself off he can accomplish anything. I believe in him and I also believe that you guys will ultimately work through this. Best of luck
