1) 50% fees for investment are ridiculous. Like, actually ridiculous. There is not a single hedge fund manager in the world who pulls that and they are all better at managing stocks than you are. You deserve at most 10% of profits and I am being extremely generous with that. Your parents could definitely make an argument to deduct all “business expenses” (your education, anything they paid for you over the years since you started) from these profits.
2) you aren't actually good at managing stocks. You are lucky. I'm sure you did daily research and a lot of work, but that doesn't mean you are good. Any moron made money during the time period that you did, and you've now lost more than half of it because you didn't hedge properly. So quite frankly you suck at this.
3) What you are doing probably literally illegal so you have no legal standing.
4) Grow up and don't sue your parents. Give them their money back and say thank you to whatever amount they give you and stop working for them. Honestly, if you can point to a track record of success and use this to get hired at an actual trading firm then they have done you a huge favor.

As an exercise, run a little analysis. See what your PnL would be if you had just put all of the money into SPY at the earliest possible opportunity and left it there. Chart it. Now compare it against the risk (if you know how to measure risk….you DO know how to measure risk right??? You star trader?). I'm going to guess that SPY was a better option than whatever you were aping into.
