2. Sounds like she was more focused on herself and what she wanted or thought was best rather than what he asked for. Selfishness comes in many forms…some more subtle than others. Then she couldn't handle the rejection.

   In my view she has no reason to be mad. He made a simple request. Sex does not Trump everything with men but many women seem to think it's the end all be all with us.

   Here is the issue:

   What I have suggested already is that you have never actually truly listened to him. Genuine listening comes from a place of non-judgement. There is nothing naked about actually listening to somebody. The fact that you cannot listen to him gives a key to understanding the dynamics of this relationship.

   In general, there are people who derive self-worth from a relationship from taking on the role of a parent. So they are (subconsciously) attracted to people who act like children, and then turn around and complain about their partner's behavior as part of their parenting role. If such people's lives were not made miserable by their partner's behvarior, they would lose their sense of identity in the relationship.

   So one thing to consider is this: do you have the need to play the parent role in the relationship? If so, you should investigate why and if you are willing to heal yourself in order to get out of this unhealthy dynamic.
