I think it makes him feel second best, which I totally understand. I have a friend who married a guy quite a bit older. I think he’s got 22 years in her if I remember correctly. She was in her early thirties at the time. They have had a great happy life together. She retired at 40.
Unfortunately he’s very I’ll right now with a likely terminal disease. She’s now in her early fifties and he’s 70 something. I don’t say this to discourage you because I know my friend loves her husband and is happy with him. Just keep in mind that health concerns really increase as you age and the much younger partner often ends up as the caregiver.
